Brazil is the jewel of South America, stunning golden beaches, exotic forests and vibrant cities. Despite the overwhelming size of Brazil, the majority of the population are located in the eastern costal cities. The two largest and perhaps best know cities are Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. These vast cities inhabit over 70% of the Brazilian population and are a central hub for industry and commerce. Nearly half of the Brazilian province is covered by dense rainforest and the Amazon River. Unfortunately recent years have seen large scale deforestation as a result of international trade and modernization.
