Bulgaria is located at a crossroads between Europe and Asia. Bulgaria is easily assessable by road, river, sea and air. There are 4 international airports in Bulgaria in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Bourgas with regular flights to and from the UK, these Bulgarian airports support all major European airports.

Geography

Bulgaria is divided into over 20 provinces and is located in south Eastern Europe, the north eastern part of the Balkan peninsular. The eastern edge of Bulgaria borders Romania, divided only by the Danube River. Serbia, Montenegro and the Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia are located to the west and south of Bulgaria is Greece and Turkey. The capital city of Bulgaria is Sofia, Bulgaria has a population of over 7 million people and consists of approximately 110,000 sq km of which over 109,000 sq km is land, with 360 km of scenic coastline. The Bulgarian terrain is mountainous with flat land in the north and southeast with the lowest point of Bulgaria being the Black Sea at 0 metres and the highest point is Musala at almost 3,000 metres.
